Dear Families,

Tomorrow we celebrate the very important Feast Day of St Dominic, the founder of the Dominican Order. The Dominican Order, of course, being responsible for the establishment of not only our school but many schools across Australia and the world. The official Feast Day is not until Saturday but we will be celebrating as a school tomorrow with a Mass in the gym at 9:30am, we would be delight to see any community members join us! St Dominic’s Feast Day is on Saturday August 3^rd, so we will celebrate our story and founder on Friday August 2^nd  at 9:30am we will have a whole school Mass in the Gym.

During the day, children will participate in Buddy Class activities.  We will provide a sausage sizzle for lunch to celebrate our community.

“Help Jaxon -We are with you!” A Silent Auction will be held in our School Hall in Week 5, from Monday 19th to Friday 23rd of August 2019.

The auction will close at 2pm. We are raising funds to assist this beautiful young boy with his treatment plan and to support his family as they prepare to travel to Sydney for a Stem Cell Transplant. Some items that will be available at the auction are:

We have an awesome opportunity as a community to help Jaxon’s family by organizing landscaping and garden space for their house. We would like to set up a group to help make this come to fruition. If you are able to be part of this group please contact Lisa McCormick on lisa.mccormick@rosary.catholic.edu.au.

We hope to have a short meeting next Wednesday at 6:30pm here at school.

We will also need a number of donations so if you are able to help with the labour, seek donations of pots and plants, equipment or services please let Lisa know asap. 

Congratulations to the Year 6 Basketball Teams that competed at the recent State Championships at Wayville Stadium. They played schools from around the Adelaide North East region, most of these being Year 7’s.
The kids played some great team basketball, sharing the ball around and learning along the way.
We are really proud of the way in which the teams behaved on and off court.

If you would like to purchase a copy of the SRC or Choir group photo, please enquire at the front office at the time of school photo delivery. The cost of the photo is $20 each.

Many new faces joined our school in the mid- year Transition class where 20 boys and girls began their school life under the guidance of Amanda Coombe.

The children have settled in extremely well.

If you have any lego you would like to donate to the school, please drop it into the front office. We would love to get enough to have a ‘lego’ Brickman opportunity as an alternate lunch time play option. As you can imagine, many kids will be very keen, so we need mega buckets of lego!

We wanted to keep you updated with an overview of all the initiatives we are working on to support Jaxon and his family.
1. Silent Auction - staff are overseeing this and it will be held in our School Hall in Week 5, from Monday 19th to Friday 23rd of August 2019. The auction will close at 2pm. 
2. Backyard Blitz - staff, parents, community - this is URGENT
3. Hot chocolates - P& F are donating all money this term. Happens each Friday at school.
4. RGL Popcorn - RGL - each Thursday at school.
5.Disco P & F are organising this for the children - Friday September 6 .

With a new group of students starting this term, it is timely that we remind you to care for all children in this school by observing all requrests. Please be aware of the congested traffic situations and the care needed to be taken around our school.

You may use the Kiss and Drop zone on Gladstone road for that purpose only.  Be patient as you wait for the cars in front to move down.

Staples Court - avoid driving down here and doing U-Turns at the bottom near the school.

Our Crossing Monitors have been trained by SAPOL and do an amazing job, so please use the crossing and give them a smile on the way past!
