News from the APRIM

Thursday 4th February, 2021

Prayer of the Week: One element of our recent staff reflection day was reflecting upon the ‘why’. Why are we embarking on a journey to use prayer as a vehicle to explore how we can be inclusive of all – not only in the Rosary School Community but also in our own personal lives. One avenue of inspiration for our ‘why’ for 2021 is ‘Fratelli Tutti’, Pope Francis’ latest encyclical, published in October 2020. This encyclical offers a new vision of fraternity and social friendship that acknowledges, appreciates and loves each person regardless of their differences. Hence, the prayer I have chosen this week is from the encyclical, titled, ‘A Prayer to the Creator’.

Project Compassion / Shrove Tuesday, 16th February

Thursday 4th February, 2021

This year, Caritas Australia has introduced their theme of ‘BE MORE’ for Project Compassion 2021. It challenges us to a new level of compassion and encourages us to ‘aspire not to have more, but to be more’, especially for those who do not have the essential resources they need for survival. It helps us to dig deeper into our theme of inclusion and how we might invite others to be together at the table, metaphorically. Please read on for information about pancakes on Shrove Tuesday.

Playgroup

Wednesday 3rd February, 2021

Due to the introduction of Performing Arts specialist lessons  this year, we need to move our Playgroup to a Tuesday  morning. The time is also a little later (9:15am start) due to the school establishing its own OSHC service run by YMCA. We apologise to any family who were anticipating that Playgroup would continue on a Wednesday at the same time in 2021. We hope you are able to join us again this year.

Opening School Mass

Wednesday 3rd February, 2021

On Thursday 11th February, we will be celebrating our Opening School Mass in the gym at 9:30am.  Celebration of the Eucharist reminds us of our commitment to our theme 'Together at the Table' as we include all in our school community in this faith tradition.

Given our current COVID restrictions, we still must abide by the density requirments and physcial distancing.  As such, you are welcome to attend, however inside capacity will be limited and there are no guarantees of a seat.  However, weather permitting, we will open the large glass walls up to allow families to sit outside.

You will still be required to sign in and this can be done at the gym.
